Product Design has very little to do with aesthetics.
Like architects, Product Designers are focused on how the product will be used by customers. They design flow diagrams, wireframes, and final mockups to guide the dev team. They can also build interactive visual prototypes for testing and demonstration purposes. They are well-versed in UX best practices, accessibility requirements and global standards.
Without a Product Designer, you run the risk of building a product that works well for you, but is difficult to use for customers who may never have heard of you before, or who have been using a competitor’s product or a workaround to get the job done.
